Virtue had 3 gorgeous babies, 2 boys and a girl. This litter was not a planned litter and we were very surprised to find her pregnant. When we realized Virtue was pregnant we rushed to the vet to ensure she was carrying more than one (singletons can often grow very big and therefore likely require c-section) and to confer with our vet as to whether we should be calling as soon as she shows signs of labor to safely get the babies out and give momma the best chance or whether our vet thought she may do alright on her own. X-rays showed she had 3 babies and they felt it was possible she would be able to deliver naturally. With that information and our vet on call we patiently awaited the signs of labor. She went into labor late the 2nd and we watched very anxiously hoping she would be ok. After a few hours of fussing and pacing she finally started pushing. The first pup took a little bit but she pushed through and with no help from me she delivered him.  A healthy 4.5 oz boy which made me breath a little easier. The next pup was breech and with a little help she delivered him at 4.1oz. I was very concerned his neck was broken as he was very floppy but as I dried him off he started crying almost immediately! After handing him back to momma the last pup took a bit longer. She was the biggest at 4.6 oz but Virtue had no problems with her. They are maintaining weight and I'm very hopeful they will thrive at this point.

As she had 3 babies on the 3rd of October and it was the release date of Taylor Swift's new album AND I was listening to it for the first time as they were born I felt it was only right we should name them after her album. 

For those wondering and who have been following us for awhile, I had no plans to breed her. She was actually looking for her pet family so she will be available again once she's done raising these beautiful babies.
